Overview section (distance and cost totals) section

Q:What does the first graph mean?
A:Total distance that each person has carpooled as driver.
For application in System I:
Every carpooler agrees to drive as often as the others. So all carpoolers should strive for the same values in this graph. (You can use this system if all carpoolers have a car and carpool most of the time.)

Example: Person1 drives, Person2 & Person3 are passengers, trip distance is 15 km/miles. In this graph: 15 is added to Person1, 0 is added to Person2 and 0 is added to Person3.

Q:What does the second graph mean?
A:Total distance each person travelled with the carpool group (both as driver and as passenger).
For application in System II:
Each person (driver and passengers) pays a fixed amount to a stake. This stake can be divided, e.g. according to the Distance as driver (System I).
(You can use this system if some carpoolers skip carpooling regularly. You can use this system if all carpoolers have a car. You can also use this system if not all carpoolers have a car.)

Example: Person1 is the driver, Person2 & Person3 are passengers, trip distance is 15 km/miles. In this graph, 15 is added to all persons (Person1, Person2 and Person3).

Q:What does the third graph mean?
A:Amount you should receive from (if the amount is positive) or pay to (if the amount is negative) the other carpoolers.
For application in System III:
The costs of each trip are divided between the driver and all passengers.
(Most suitable system if not all carpoolers have a car.)

Example: Person1 is the driver, Person2 and Person3 are passengers, the trip distance is 15 km/miles, the cost per km/mile is 0.10. In this graph, 1.00 is added to Person1, 0.50 is subtracted from Person2 and 0.50 is subtracted from Person3.
